although the gorgeous dresses are not why i watch the oscars, they are definitely a plus.  actually, i love the  dresses. thinking about them tonight i decided to find pictures of two of my all time favorite ball gowns, and it just so happens my favorite woman is wearing them both.

 i'm just in love with the new louis vuitton ads, they are so fresh, light & fluffy.  i rarely get the urge to actually check out new designer lines, but these advertisements did it for me, and i love what i found! these eyelet dresses with pastel colors, they are all so girly and lovely!

... and for those of us who don't buy louis vuitton, i found these absolutely adorable dresses at modcloth!

my closet: vintage orange & black dress

a perfect pregnant/postnatal dress! this is from my grandmother's closet, actually.  i've had it for a while and love finding new ways to wear it.  My black cowboy boots would be a great choice, but, for this recovering body, i had to go with my good'ol standbys (maryjane danskos).

glitter art!

i have't quite figured out how to photograph glitter, it never seems to look as good as it does in person.

so, i've had this painting laying around for the last 5+ years, it came in an old frame i bought at a garage sale and for some reason, after taking it out of the frame, i could never seem to get rid of it (perhaps because i imagine someone's grandma painting it...)  

anyways, the time has finally come to make some changes! 

***i LOVE the martha stewart glitters, and have never once, for even a second, regretted spending 30$ on the 24 pack. ever. i love love love them***

to apply glue i use an old paintbrush (that has dried glue on it) ... but i imagine you could use anything, the wrong end of a paintbrush would also work well, to get those thin lines of glue. 

SO, this idea actually came about because of this (amazing) cheap copy of 'the last supper' that john and a buddy bought at a Fiesta (grocery store) 10 -or so- years ago ...  it is in this phenomenal, gaudy, plastic frame.   So, the flowers were sort of like my practice ... next, i WILL glitter on a da vinci (copy...)

john, really never stops surprising me. how cool is this? i love that i have a man that doesn't buy overpriced roses and chocolates.  instead, he somehow find the time (between working, cleaning, cooking and helping me with the baby) to make me something awesome.  It just makes me wonder the things he could do if he had more than 15 minutes to himself!
